“Turnkey”: from sawdust to export biofuel

Italian Machinery Association has signed a contract for the supply of an automated production line for the manufacture of wood pellets in Daugavpils, Latvia. The project is being implemented as a comprehensive "turnkey" solution and covers the full technological cycle — from raw material grinding to drying, pressing, and packaging of the finished products.
The raw material base will consist of waste from local sawmills and woodworking enterprises: sawdust, logs, boards, shavings, and wood chips, which are generated in significant volumes in the Latgale region. For Daugavpils, which is actively developing its industrial potential, the launch of such production will create new jobs and ensure the processing of wood waste into environmentally friendly fuel with high added value. The implementation of the project will strengthen Latvia's export potential in the EU biofuel markets and contribute to the development of "green" energy in the region.
